چکیده
Data from 14 U.S. feedlots January 1, 2017, through December 31, 2020, were evaluated for disease treatment on the probability of being terminally diagnosed with heart (HD). The study objective was two-fold: 1) determine association between number bovine respiratory (BRD) treatments (0,1,2,3+) and HD, 2) common feedlot (AIP, BRD, Complex Disease, GI+Bloat, Other), cohort demographics HD. analyzed using generalized mixed-effects models to evaluate terminal Covariates interest include: BRD treatments, category, average arrival weight, year, quarter, elevation sex. associated HD (P < 0.01). Cattle requiring additional increased their not finishing feeding period due magnitude this association influenced by elevation, sex quarter Feedlot categories phase a diagnosis Sex 0.01) higher elevations having greater majority cattle railed prior death at (9 15 per 10,000 received).

15 صفحه اولVitamins For Feedlot Cattle
✓ B-vitamin requirements of feedlot cattle are not known. Stress and/or illness can increase requirements, resulting in shortterm deficiencies. B-vitamin supplementation, particularly in the first 10 days after arrival in the feedlot, may improve performance and/or reduce morbidity. Depending on the Bvitamin, supplementation may alleviate nutrient deficiencies of rumen microbes, or of the anima...
متن کاملSulfur Toxicity in Feedlot Cattle
Introduction: Sulfur is an important component of many functions in the body and is an essential nutrient for beef cattle. It is an important part of the amino acids methionine, cysteine, and cystine. The B-vitamins thiamine and biotin also contain sulfur. Rumen microbes require sulfur for their normal growth and metabolism. A large portion of the sulfur found in typical feedlot diets is a comp...

The cattle market has set year-over-year record high prices since 2009. The increasing value of cattle has substantially increased the financial risk of feeding cattle, and has commensurately increased the economic losses from disease. As cattle feeding profitability continues to be challenged by the low margin between selling prices and operating costs, all facets of cattle feeding are being e...
